B&H Photo & Video
Dustin trying out the fabled 85mm 1.2 on a Canon 5DSR some years ago. Wait, what was I shooting on? 50mm 1.8, and still bokeh like nobody’s business.
Neighborhood: Chelsea
B&H is the most wild store I’ve ever been in. There’s camera equipment everywhere, and this crazy system of conveyor belts that shuttle around bins of goods from some warehouse space above or below.
At the time, this 11-24mm behemoth was the widest aspherical lens around.
I’ve tested out a lot of cameras and equipment here, which can be a bit of a challenge in the windowless photography department on the second floor. When I was testing out the Fujifilm X-Pro 3, which I fell in love with, it occurred to me to look down under the counter and shoot the conveyor system.

I’d love to hunt those photos down, and many more that I’ve taken at B&H, but given my recent computer nightmares, we’re going to save that task for another time. I’ve got a lot more to say about B&H, so this post might see some updates down the road.
But for now, it’s next up in the post order of me publishing my archive, and if I slow down here I’ll never get on to the next one. So I’m hitting publish and we’re on to the next spot.
If you’re reading this and wanna see and learn more about the amazing camera store that is B&H, voice your interest to me and that will spur me to provide and update.

Okay, so I admit that I felt a little silly reaching for the publish button without at least trying to hunt them down - and so I did check the spot I felt them most likely to be, and I don’t see them there. So hey, I tried.

Working on this post lead to the discovery of some nearby photos, and an entire vlog buried in the archive. I’m working on producing that now.
