Inspired: Luxury Lighting in a Manhattan Condo
A potential client recently asked for examples of work that might align with some townhouses they’re preparing to list, so I went down the rabbit hole through past Manhattan townhomes and condos I’ve photographed. Some of the projects were gems, others… not so much. I’ve culled the images and stories here to share only what still resonates with my eye today.
What stood out about this Manhattan condo renovation was how lighting transforms the space. It’s not just practical; it’s emotional. Light sculpts a room, highlights texture, and brings design details to life that might otherwise go unnoticed.
I’m especially drawn to moments of moody spotlighting and rich, vibrant color. This is the kind of light that feels cinematic and intentional, not flat and even. In interior photography, light isn’t just illumination. It sets the atmosphere.
Through this project, you’ll notice:
• Deliberate use of shadows and highlights that add depth to surfaces
• Color contrasts that emphasize materiality
• Ambient light shaping the mood of each room without overwhelming it
Each image below is selected for the way it tells a story about light interacting with space. The goal is to reveal architectural intent and emotional nuance at the same time.
