For years I’ve peered out the window as I drive down the road and something would catch my eye. I’d think “that would make a nice photo. I should come back here some time and take that.”
It’s a terrible habit - passing up something that is wonderful right now, ignoring the fact that moments are fleeting, and knowing deep down that I’m never going to come back.
So I’ve been changing my habits. I’ve started to pull over and take it in, and snap that photo that I want right now, while it exists.
It gets me to pause for a moment and take in how wonderfully beautiful our world is, which, in the end, is what my photography is all about.
