Whirlwind Hudson Valley Photography Tour

While the weather has been absolutely, heartbreakingly beautiful down here in Central NJ, it’s been nearly constant rain in the Catskills, putting several potential real estate photography shoots on hold while my clients waited for cloud breaks. Finally a clear day came on Monday, with only pockets of forecasted sunlight. Fortunately, the great weather held and I was able to squeeze shooting in three gorgeous homes across two days, and an immense amount of driving. Nearly 700 miles.

I plan to go into more detail on each of these houses in future posts, and share some of my favorite moodier images that didn’t make it into the listings, but for now it’s 4 minutes to midnight and I wanted to share the spots with you in time for the newsletter to go out in the morning.

Next time, if there is a next adventure like this one, I’d like to camp overnight in the catskills, rather than driving down to NYC to sleep over at a friend’s house. As fun as that was to see my friends and go out in NYC, staying locally would have been a better move to save 4+ hours of driving. But, I’m sure I got a better night’s sleep indoors, so we’ll see.

I’m still very eager to give the camp-between-photoshoots gambit a go.

Anyway, on to the houses:

A beautiful piece of modern architecture that once graced the pages of Dwell. Jaw dropping mountain views.

An excellently renovated home on a lovely site with a serene creek.

Luxurious, spacious mountain living. Gorgeous warm timbered interior, cozy to the max.

Special Thanks to Rowan

Gotta give a big shout out to our new 2005 Honda CR-V, whom we dubbed Rowan for reasons only my wife knows. He got me around in style and comfort for all those miles, and has been an absolute joy to drive.

Did you know this 2nd Gen CR-V has a hidden folding camp table in the trunk? Blew my mind when I found out. I can’t wait to bust that out for some impromptu picnicking.
