My neighbor owns a small local landscaping company, and had just done some work on another neighbor’s yard - notably building a nice little retaining wall around the garden beds to go along with mulching and general lawn maintenance. The grounds really shined, and I am particularly fond of all the illumination these homeowners have added to the lawn - it’s the most lit of any in the neighborhood, so it’s always a joy to walk by.
The budget for this was a total shoestring, even at 10% of net profit — which is what I typically recommend my clients go for as their imagery spend on a shoot)
So I shot the space totally as-is, hence little bits of gravel strewn about and the truck in the background of one of the shots.
Even so, we were blessed with a gorgeous weather that really made the yard pop, and then I swung back by for some twilight photos to show off the lighting I love so much.
It was basically the shortest commute of my career, so that’s certainly a win.
I also snagged this shot with a helicopter passing by, which brought me childish glee.
In a few of the photos I continued my tilt-shift funtime from the photos of my garden I took earlier that morning.
