1992 Hall - Dormitory at Princeton Hun School
A contemporary residential hall designed to foster connection, community, and a sense of home within The Hun School’s historic campus.
1992 Hall is a new residential hall at The Hun School of Princeton, designed to create a comfortable, connected living environment for the school’s boarding community. The three-story, 41,000-square-foot building provides housing for 114 students and 12 faculty families, with dormitory rooms, faculty apartments, shared lounges, kitchenettes, and outdoor courtyards woven throughout the plan.
Designed by Clarke Caton Hintz and built by C. Raymond Davis & Sons, the project replaces an outdated dormitory with a contemporary residential environment that balances privacy, community, and connection to the surrounding Hun School campus. I photographed the completed building and interiors for C. Raymond Davis, documenting the architecture, residential spaces, and relationship between the new hall and its campus setting.
The Brief
CCH called me up to shoot this dorm, so I did! We first talked about shooting this in October of 2025, but the shoot didn’t end up happening until June 2026. Delays are the name of the game, it seems.
Several people from the firm of various roles came out to style and model for the project, and they were a blast to meet and work with. We even got some fun and silly behind the scenes shots that I’ll look for now.
