Yakitori Torishin - Restaurant Photography
A friend just asked me for restaurant recommendations around the theater district, looking for something off the beaten path to get away from the touristy areas. I immediately thought of this, as it’s one of my favorite places I’ve ever been in the city. Getting a little taste of world travel just by stepping inside the doors is one of the marvels of the city, and this place really ticks the boxes for me.
Torishin is yakitori skewer heaven. I think it’s one of the only places in NYC to cook over binchotan charcoal, as well. The flavors, atmosphere, and experience are world class. I think it’s also one of the first places I ever experienced a Toto washlet, which itself is a wonderful experience. The light had vibes are all the classy Japanese elegance you could ask for, and the omakase skewer experience is fantastic. You can also keep the bill light by going à la carte and just picking your favorite skewers.
For how much I love this place, and the several times I’ve been, I don’t have that large of an image assortment. Most of these are from several years ago, and I wouldn’t doubt I have some unedited images kicking around on a hard drive - but hunting those down is beyond the scope of today’s mission, which is just to make sure that a place I love so much is represented here on my website.
