Montauk Point
04.07.24 - I just found this at the very bottom of my list of blogposts, sitting as an unpublished draft from May 12, 2014. It is the oldest post on here by several years. You can see the next post was two years later in 2016. I wonder why I never published it? This journal has gone through many iterations, and is kinda all over the place. Well, it’s mostly food and architecture, so I guess those are the places it’s all over.
Now that I’m being more diligent about working on this journal, and making this the main home of all my imagery online, I think about how I wish I’d been doing it all along. Imagine what an amazing collection I’d have here if I’d been putting the hundreds of thousands of images I’ve shot over the years up here.
But hey, you know what they say about the bet time to plant a tree.
“The best time to plant a tree is 20 years ago. The second best time is today.”
So, here’s to keeping it rolling, and maybe in 20 years I’ll have a really mind blowing collection here, in my own little corner of the internet, for folks to discover in much more intentional way than any social media platform that may have come and gone.
I’ll just be over here tinkering on my digital house. Do come in.
Montauk
Oh, I should probably talk a little bit about Montauk Point, since these photos are from that trip. Way back when, Nooklyn held a summer leasing contest, and the winner won a stay at Baron’s Cove in Sag Harbor. The guy who won was like “thanks, but no thanks.” And so Moiz turned to me and said “Alright, fine, let’s go.” So we grabbed Dustin, hopped in the car, and drove out to Montauk for one of the most memorable vacations of my life. I took a ton of photos of Baron’s Cove, Sag Harbor, Duryea’s Lobster Deck, Montauk, and more - and wouldn’t you know it, none of those photos seem to be up here on the site at the time of writing.
I’ve really got some work to do on this archive, y’know?
